鸟大大影院

The 鸟大大影院 hosted its second聽alumni聽reunion in London from 8th-10th September 2007. Nearly 100 alumni traveled from across the globe to participate in the three-day event which provided an opportunity for all 鸟大大影院 alumni to come together, learn from their unique experiences, and give shape to the way in which they interact within and outside the community.

The reunion commenced with a welcome address by Mr Shiraz Kabani, Head of Operations, Finance & Development, which was followed by an informal session where participants were invited to share memories and experiences of their student days at the 鸟大大影院. The afternoon continued with the keynote address, delivered by Dr Aziz Esmail, 鸟大大影院 Governor, in which he reminded alumni of their dual responsibility towards their faith and intellect. The session ended with a thought-provoking question and answer session.

Day two comprised of academic sessions on the theme of Muslim Modernities, delivered and facilitated by Dr Amyn Sajoo, 鸟大大影院 Research Associate. In the evening, a formal dinner was held to honour the alumni. This was an opportunity for alumni to interact with the community leaders and 鸟大大影院 senior personnel, and share with them their activities and concerns. Professor Azim Nanji delivered the keynote address. The alumni body formally thanked Mrs Selina Kassam Ramji, who is moving to the Department of Community Relations, for her active role in creating a solid foundation for the engagement of the Alumni with the 鸟大大影院.

On Monday, the alumni met at the Ismaili Centre for a live viewing of the graduation ceremony for graduates of the Institute鈥檚 Graduate Programme in Islamic Studies and Humanities where Prince Rahim Aga Khan delivered the keynote address. Also in attendance at the graduation were Prince Hussain and Princess Khaliya Aga Khan. Following the graduation, the dignitaries attended an informal reception with the alumni.

The Alumni Relations Office has received feedback from most of the participants which will help to plan and organise future Alumni events.
