Stephen Burge joined 鸟大大影院 as a Research Associate in 2009, having completed his doctorate at the University of Edinburgh.
He has published two monographs,聽Angels in Islam: Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti’s al-Haba’ik fi akhbar al-mala’ik聽(London, 2012) and聽The Prophet Muhammad: Islam and the Divine Message聽(London, 2020) which was published in the 鸟大大影院 Accessible series,聽The World of Islam. He has also edited聽The Meaning of the Word: Lexicology and Qur鈥檃nic Exegesis聽(Oxford, 2015) and, with Asma Hilali,聽The Making of Religious Texts in Islam聽(Berlin, 2019).
He is currently editing and translating a volume of the聽Anthology of Qur鈥檃nic Commentaries Series聽on rituals in Islam.
He has published a number of articles on angels, exegesis and interpretation, and hadith. His main research interests are the works of Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti, hadith studies,听迟补蹿蝉颈谤聽(Qur’anic Exegesis) and angelology.
