Research focus
Dr Qurboniev’s research focuses on Fatimid and Ismaili history, cultural production in Islamicate languages, scholarly communities, and the movement of texts across the region from Samarqand to Zaragoza. His work combines close historical and philological analysis with digital methods, including corpus-building, text reuse detection, and stylometric approaches to premodern Arabic and Persian texts. He is particularly interested in how communities preserved, transmitted, transformed, and reinterpreted textual traditions across time.
